Regular Season Round 29: ASVEL - Monaco 82-56

An interesting game took place in Villeurbanne where 9th ranked Monaco (12-17) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked ASVEL (12-16) 82-56 on Wednesday. ASVEL forced 27 Monaco turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Marcus Gomis who scored 24 points and 5 assists. Senegalese center Khadim Sow (210-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. ASVEL's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Hugo Voulfor (197-98, agency: Two Points) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and DR Congolese center Kevin Keliki (208-0) added 8 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for ASVEL. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Strasbourg. Monaco lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. They share it with Le Portel. ASVEL will meet Limoges (#15) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Monaco will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#7) and hope to secure a win.
