There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Cagliari CUS (13-15) won against at home 8th ranked Civitanova (14-13) 68-57 on Wednesday. Polish Aneta Kotnis (186-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Silvia Favento (185-85) contributed with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Cagliari CUS players scored in double figures. Guard Ada De-Pasquale (173-95) answered with 23 points and point guard Alessandra Orsili (167-1) added 13 points and 5 steals in the effort for Civitanova. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cagliari CUS moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Civitanova keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Cagliari CUS will face league's second-placed Bologna on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
