Very important is a road loss of third ranked Oviedo CB (21-12) against fourth ranked Palma (21-12) on Friday night. Visiting Oviedo CB was defeated by Palma in S'Arenal 65-51. Point guard Erik Quintela (184-91) nailed 14 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winning side and center Fran Guerra (214-92) accounted for 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Austrian-American forward Bryce Douvier (201-91, college: Texas A&M-CC) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Dutch forward Joey van-Zegeren (208-90, college: Northwestern) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Oviedo CB in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Palma have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Oviedo. Palma will play against Castello (#13) in Castellon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oviedo CB will play at home against CB Prat (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
