Everything went according to plan in Joondalup where first ranked Wanneroo (7-2) beat 9th ranked Eagles (4-6) 116-100 on Friday. Wanneroo made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game, while Eagles only scored eight points from the stripe. Wanneroo shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 55.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 42 assists comparing to just 23 passes made by Eagles' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Wanneroo made 28 blocks. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-91, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and American swingman Ridell Camidge (192-96, college: Oklahoma City) chipped in 24 points and 6 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). The best for the losing side was American guard Cameron Williams (185-95, college: MSU Denver) with 28 points and guard Aiden Murphy (183-98) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Wanneroo and five Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wanneroo maintains first place in League with 7-2 record. Loser Eagles dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Wanneroo will face Senators (#6) in Perth in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Eagles will play at home against Redbacks (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
