Regular Season Round 9: Geelong S. - Kilsyth C. 78-95

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Geelong Supercats (3-3) were defeated at home by leader Kilsyth Cobras (6-0) 95-78 on Saturday. Kilsyth Cobras made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Peter Hooley (193-92, college: Albany) stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 assists for the winners and forward Chris Patton (208-91, college: UC Riverside) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Four Kilsyth Cobras players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: SHSU) with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and power forward MaAlo Hicks (201-89) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Geelong Supercats' coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kilsyth Cobras maintains first place in League with 6-0 record. Loser Geelong Supercats dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Kilsyth Cobras will face Sabres (#18) in Cheltenham in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Geelong Supercats will play on the road against Waverley Falcons (#8) in Mount Waverley and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
