There was a minor upset in Santander where 6th ranked Estela (15-17) was defeated by eighth ranked Girona Basquet (17-16) 81-74 on Saturday. Girona Basquet looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Jordi Trias (208-80) who had a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists. Croatian forward Leo Cizmic (205-98) chipped in 17 points. Girona Basquet's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Andre Norris (201-94, college: Dubuque, agency: Two Points) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Estela players scored in double figures. Girona Basquet moved-up to seventh place in Silver which they share with defeated Estela. Estela at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with 17 games lost. Girona Basquet will face league's second-placed Zamorano at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
