There was a small surprise in Hawthorn where sixth ranked Hume City Broncos (3-4) outscored 4th placed Magic (4-3) 103-83 on Saturday. Hume City Broncos made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Hume City Broncos outrebounded Magic 42-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Magic was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Jamal Shabazz (198-94, college: Samford) stepped up and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and naturalized American forward Jake Martin (198-93, college: Luther) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds.
