There was no surprise when 6th ranked Martos (9-9) was outplayed on the road by fourth ranked Cordobasket (10-7) 93-68 on Saturday. Cordobasket forced 19 Martos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Adolfo Vega (195-97) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and center Jose-Antonio Moreno (204-98) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was David Melero (-91) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Senegalese center Mbagne Diop (209-92) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Cordobasket and four Martos players scored in double figures. Cordobasket have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in Group D-Permam with 10-7 record. Newly promoted Martos keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Cordobasket will face higher ranked Unicaja-Andalucia (#3) in Malaga in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Martos will play against Caceres and hope to win that game.
