Regular Season Round 9: Eastern M. - S.Adelaide P. 90-106

There was a small surprise in Mt. Barker where eleventh ranked South Adelaide Panthers (1-7) won against 9th ranked Eastern Mavericks (2-7) 106-90 on Saturday. South Adelaide Panthers made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Eastern Mavericks turnovers. American forward Zach Allmon (203, college: Vanguard) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds for the winners and Brad Jonnek chipped in 21 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Brandon Morris (203-94, college: Benedict) with 24 points and 8 rebounds and center Devon McGee (205-97) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. South Adelaide Panthers left bottom position moving up to tenth place in League. Loser Eastern Mavericks keep the ninth position with seven games lost. South Adelaide Panthers will face higher ranked Forestville Eagles (#4) in Goodwood in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
