A very close game took place in Terrigal between Maitland Mustangs and Crusaders. Second ranked Maitland Mustangs (6-2) got a very close victory on the road over leader Crusaders (7-1). Maitland Mustangs managed to escape with a 3-point win 85-82 on Saturday evening. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in League. The best player for the winners was Terrell Turner who scored 22 points and 5 assists. American forward Isaiah Ellis (203-95, college: Chico St., agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Maitland Mustangs' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Callum Jenkins who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Mitchell Rueter (198, college: Cent Arkansas) added 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Five Maitland Mustangs and four Crusaders players scored in double figures. Maitland Mustangs maintains second place in League with 6-2 record having just nine point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Crusaders still keep top position with one game lost. Maitland Mustangs will meet at home Panthers (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Crusaders will play against Spiders (#11) in Hornsby and hope to secure a win.
