There was an upset when higher ranked Poitiers (15-14) was rolled over on the road by twelfth ranked Lille Metropole (12-17) 80-58 on Saturday. Lille Metropole forced 22 Poitiers turnovers. American point guard Maurice Acker (172-87, college: Marquette) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 assists for the winners and guard Luc Loubaki (191-97) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Power forward Mickael Var (205-90) responded with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Ron Anderson (202-89, college: S.Florida, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lille Metropole maintains twelfth place with 12-17 record. Loser Poitiers dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. Lille Metropole will face Denain Voltaire (#15) on the road in the next round.
