Regular Season Round 13: APR - Rusizi 139-58

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked APR (6-7) smashed at home 8th ranked Rusizi (2-12) 139-58 on Sunday. APR dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Rusizi's 44. APR forced 34 Rusizi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Rusizi's players. International Pascal Niyonkuru (193-95) stepped up and scored 60 points (!!!) for the winners and international Bienvenue Niyonsaba (201-96) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five APR players scored in double figures. APR's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Daniel Nsabimana (-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Joseph Bahati (-99) scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Despite that victory APR went down to sixth position due to points difference. Rusizi lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. APR will face higher ranked IPRC-South (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rusizi will play against UGB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
