Everything went according to plan in Flinders Park where fourth ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (6-2) beat 8th ranked Woodville Warriors (4-5) 87-76 on Sunday. American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-96, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Tom Daly (182-91) chipped in 24 points. Four Mount Gambier Pioneers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Joshua Clippinger (201, college: Messiah) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Jonathan Perry (193-91, college: DBU) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Woodville Warriors' coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Mount Gambier Pioneers moved-up to second place in League. Loser Woodville Warriors dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Mount Gambier Pioneers will face Eastern Mavericks (#9) in Mt. Barker in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Woodville Warriors will play on the road against North Adelaide Rockets in Greenacres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
