Rather predictable result when third ranked Monaco (20-10) won against at home 5th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (18-11) 91-74 on Monday. They outrebounded Pau-Lacq-Orthez 36-19 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Monaco especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a good game for Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Hungarian-American power forward Jarrod Jones (207-90, college: Ball St.) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Mickey McConnell (182-89, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 18 points and 6 assists in the effort for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Five Monaco and four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Monaco maintains third position with 20-10 record having just three points less than leader ASVEL. Loser Pau-Lacq-Orthez keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost.
