Important game to mention about took place in Mazatlan. Fifth ranked Mantarrayas (8-6) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Venados (7-8) 80-79 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Venados. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian guard Michaell Jackson (190-87) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds and American center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Mantarrayas players scored in double figures. American forward Joshua Ramirez (198-94, college: Dominican, CA) responded with 25 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import center Nick Waddell (200-89, college: Grand Valley St.) scored 22 points. Newly promoted Mantarrayas maintains fifth position with 8-6 record. Venados at the other side dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. Mantarrayas will play against league's leader Tijuana Zonkeys at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Venados will play against Caballeros de Culiacan (#4) and hope to get back on the winning track.
