Ninth-ranked Leuven Bears (8-23) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (16-15) in Jemappes on Friday. Belfius Mons-Hainaut managed to secure only one-point victory 77-76. However their fans expected much easier game. Strangely Leuven Bears outrebounded Belfius Mons-Hainaut 35-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. His fellow American import guard Mike Smith (198-87, college: ETSU) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Belfius Mons-Hainaut's coach Daniel Goethals used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Hugh Robertson (195-89, college: S.Florida) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian forward Haris Delalic (202-94) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Belfius Mons-Hainaut maintains fifth place with 16-15 record. Loser Leuven Bears keep the ninth position with 23 games lost.
