No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Cocinas.com (17-16) beat on the road 11th ranked Vic (11-22) 97-91 on Saturday. Cocinas.com shot 25 for 38 from the free-throw line, while Vic only scored nine points from the stripe. Strangely Vic outrebounded Cocinas.com 34-22 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vic was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Canadian forward Erik Nissen (206-95, college: Acadia) who led his team to a victory with 15 points. Point guard Carlos Noguerol (186-93) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American-Dominican swingman Luis Jacobo (196-91, college: PFW) answered with 22 points and power forward Samuel Dominguez (204-91, college: La Palma) added 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) in the effort for Vic. Five Cocinas.com and four Vic players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
