Regular Season Round 32: Brussels - Kangoeroes 68-61

Date: May 4, 2019
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (20-12) beat at home 7th ranked Kangoeroes (11-21) 68-61 on Saturday. They outrebounded Kangoeroes 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American guard Caleb Walker (194-89, college: Nebraska) who scored that evening 9 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Amaury Gorgemans (212-92) supported him with 16 points. Basic-Fit Brussels' coach Serge Crevecoeur used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Kwan Cheatham-Jr (208-95, college: Akron) did not help to save the game for Kangoeroes. International point guard Ordane Kanda-Kanyinda (186-96) added 12 points and 4 assists for the guests. Basic-Fit Brussels maintains fourth position with 20-12 record. Loser Kangoeroes dropped to the eighth place with 21 games lost. Basic-Fit Brussels will meet Leuven Bears (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Kangoeroes will play against Okapi Aalstar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
