The most exciting game of round 11 in the LMBPF took place in Tepic. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Mexcaltecas (7-3) to sixth ranked Barreteras (4-7) 68-67 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Mexcaltecas. The best player for the winners was Puerto Rican point guard Dayshalee Salaman (163-90, college: Lincoln Memorial) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. Puerto Rican forward Anushka Maldonado (185-95, college: UTRGV) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Paola Beltran (164-94) produced 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Jazmin Valenzuela (187-89) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Barreteras moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Quetzales. Mexcaltecas at the other side keep the third position with three games lost. Barreteras is looking forward to face Escaramuzas (#7) in Guadalajara in the next round. Mexcaltecas will play at home against Acereras (#8) and are hoping to win this game.
