Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Ciudad de Mexico: Aztks (#1) and Gamos (#4). Aztks (10-1) crushed visiting Gamos (6-5) by 16 points 76-60. Aztks dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Gamos' 20. They outrebounded Gamos 52-29 including a 39-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gamos were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-84) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds. Paloma Flores contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Salvadorean forward Monica Escobar (178-94) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and international forward Casandra Ascencio (-91) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Gamos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aztks have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Mieleras. Gamos at the other side keep the fourth position with five games lost.
