Second Stage Round 9: Toulouse - Besancon 105-70

No shocking result in a game when sixteenth ranked Toulouse (9-8) crushed at home 20th ranked Besancon (3-13) 105-70 on Saturday. Toulouse dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Besancon's 32. Toulouse forced 22 Besancon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Keonta Vernon (198-94, college: GCU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Tristan Pothion (203-92) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Toulouse's coach Stephane Dao felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Armenian forward Artem Tavakalyan (198-95, college: Delaware St.) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Swiss Nicolas Dos-Santos (200-87) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Besancon. Five Toulouse and four Besancon players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toulouse. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Saint Vallier. Besancon at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twentieth position with 13 games lost.
