Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Ciudad de Mexico: Aztks (#1) and Quetzales (#5). Aztks (11-1) won against visiting Quetzales (4-8) 96-83. Aztks forced 22 Quetzales turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and Cuban center Klavdia Calvo (186-83) who added 18 points during the contest. Aztks' coach A. Acosta used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Izchel Valdez with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aztks have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record, which they share with Mieleras. Quetzales at the other side keep the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Barreteras. Aztks will play against Mexcaltecas (#3) in Tepic in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Quetzales will play at home against Barreteras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
