There was a minor upset in Greensborough where higher ranked Ringwood Hawks (2-4) were defeated by seventeenth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (2-4) 81-74 on Sunday. Guard Joel Spear (192-94, college: S.Oregon) fired 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Center Ben Allen (211-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Matthew Fennell (196) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and center Adrien Sturt (209-86, college: Snow CC) added 15 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Diamond Valley Eagles moved-up to thirteenth place in League. Diamond Valley Eagles will face higher ranked Bandits (#9) in Albury in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ringwood Hawks will play on the road against Tigers (#11) in Melbourne and hope to win that game.
