Regular Season Round 10: Eltham W. - NW Tasmania 95-100

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (4-3) defeated on the road 14th ranked Eltham Wildcats (2-5) 100-95 on Sunday. They outrebounded Eltham Wildcats 40-26 including 18 on the offensive glass. NW Tasmania Thunder looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Nick Banyard (203-94, college: Cent Florida) fired 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import forward Jordan Bowling (198, college: Dalton St.) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Bowling is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four NW Tasmania Thunder players scored in double figures. Point guard Adam Doyle (176-91) produced 24 points and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and center Simon Bradbury (215-89) added 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Eltham Wildcats' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. NW Tasmania Thunder moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Eltham Wildcats dropped to the seventeenth position with five games lost. NW Tasmania Thunder will face higher ranked Dandenong Rangers (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Eltham Wildcats will play against the league's second-placed Ballarat Miners (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
