Regular Season Round 12: Escaramuzas - Barreteras 55-52

The most exciting game of round 12 in the LMBPF took place in Guadalajara. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Barreteras (4-8) to seventh ranked Escaramuzas (3-8) 55-52 on Sunday evening. It was a good game for Amber Parsons who led her team to a victory with 27 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Sofia Moreno (185-88) contributed with 8 points and 4 assists for the winners. Puerto Rican forward Anushka Maldonado (185-95, college: UTRGV) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and the former international swingman Alexis Castro (180-86, college: Vermont) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Barreteras. Four Barreteras players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Escaramuzas maintains seventh position with 3-8 record. Barreteras at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Quetzales. Escaramuzas are looking forward to face league's second-placed Mieleras in Guanajuato in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Barreteras will play on the road against Quetzales in Ciudad de Mexico and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
