Date: May 7, 2019
Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (17-15) won against at home 12th ranked Levallois (14-18) 97-85 on Tuesday. Gravelines-Dunkerque made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Levallois' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Taylor Smith (199-91, college: SF Austin) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Karvel Anderson (188-91, college: RMU) who added 23 points during the contest. American swingman Jaron Johnson (198-92, college: Louisiana Tech) responded with 28 points and point guard David Michineau (191-94) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Levallois' coach Frederic Fauthoux rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gravelines-Dunkerque moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Bourg. Levallois lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Gravelines-Dunkerque will meet league's leader ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Levallois will play against Olympique Antibes (#18) and hope to secure a win.
