There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (7-12) beat at home 5th ranked Mantarrayas (10-10) 97-92 on Tuesday. Pioneros Los Mochis made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Anthony Glover-Jr (185-96, college: Indiana, PA) fired 36 points (!!!) and 6 assists for the winners (made all of his seven free throws). Forward Devonta Pollard (203-94, college: Houston) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Glover Jr. is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Four Pioneros Los Mochis and five Mantarrayas players scored in double figures. Mantarrayas' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pioneros Los Mochis have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 7-12 record. Mantarrayas lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. Pioneros Los Mochis will face bottom-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (#9) on the road in the next round.
