There was no surprise when 15th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (2-6) lost to eighth ranked Tigers (5-4) in Melbourne 72-81 on Saturday. The former international forward Dane Pineau (206-94, college: St.Mary's, CA) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Greek forward Nic Pozoglou (198-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Darcy Harding (200-94, agency: MKP Management) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Logan Hovey (200-94, college: SW Baptist) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Diamond Valley Eagles. Five Diamond Valley Eagles players scored in double figures. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tigers maintains eighth place in League with 5-4 record. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles keep the fifteenth position with six games lost. Tigers will face higher ranked Geelong Supercats (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Diamond Valley Eagles will play against Geelong Supercats (#7) and hope to win that game.
