Regular Season Round 11: Joondalup W. - Mandurah M. 101-80
Date: May 11, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Magic (2-9) was outscored by first ranked Wanneroo (9-3) in Joondalup 101-80 on Saturday. Wanneroo made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American swingman Ridell Camidge (192-96, college: Oklahoma City) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-91, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Five Wanneroo players scored in double figures. American guard Shaun Stewart (183-94, college: Limestone) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Marvin Smith (201-93, college: USC Upstate) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Magic. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wanneroo maintains first place in League with 9-3 record. Loser Magic keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Wanneroo will face Tigers (#11) in Willetton in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Magic will play on the road against Cougars in Hamilton Hill and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
