There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Eagles (5-7) defeated 4th placed Lightning (7-3) in Morley 88-82 on Saturday. Eagles made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Lightning outrebounded Eagles 52-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. American guard Cameron Williams (185-95, college: MSU Denver) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Drew Williamson (196-83, college: MSU Denver) contributed with 23 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Rowan Mackenzie (188-99) answered with 24 points and 9 rebounds and American guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Lightning. Four Lightning players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eagles maintains tenth place in League with 5-7 record. Loser Lightning dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Eagles will face Tigers (#11) in Willetton in the next round.
