Regular Season Round 11: Knox R. - BA CoE 82-72

There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Knox Raiders (3-4) defeated higher ranked BA CoE (4-5) in Wantirna South 82-72 on Saturday. Knox Raiders dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to BA CoE's 24. New Zealand center James Hunter (208-91, college: S.Dakota) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Cadarian Raines (206-90, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Knox Raiders players scored in double figures. Alex Ducas answered with 31 points and forward Joshua Kunen (201-0) added 2 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for BA CoE. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Knox Raiders moved-up to thirteenth place in League. Loser BA CoE dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Knox Raiders will face higher ranked Frankston Blues (#10) in Seaford in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
