We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Sluc Nancy (21-11) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (19-13) 88-84 on Sunday. Gries/Oberhoffen outrebounded Sluc Nancy 49-31 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (199-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Spanish guard Javier Forcada (193-88) who added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Ivorian point guard Souleyman Diabate (181-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists and American forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Gries/Oberhoffen maintains sixth position with 19-13 record, which they share with Saint-Chamond. Loser Sluc Nancy keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Gries/Oberhoffen will face Paris (#11) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Sluc Nancy will play against ALM Evreux (#13) and hope to win that game.
