Regular Season Round 32: Lille - Quimper 78-82

An interesting game took place in Lille where 11th ranked Lille Metropole (13-19) was upset on its own court by fourteenth ranked Quimper UJAP (12-20) 82-78 on Sunday. Quimper UJAP looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. Central African power forward Jimmy Djimrabaye (202-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Quimper UJAP's coach Laurent Foirest used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (193-85) produced 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Maurice Acker (172-87, college: Marquette) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP maintains fourteenth position with 12-20 record. Loser Lille Metropole dropped to the twelfth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Evreux. Quimper UJAP will meet at home higher ranked Poitiers (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lille Metropole will play against the league's second-placed SPO Rouen and will have a slim chance for a victory.
