An interesting game took place in Rosh Pina where 4th placed Hapoel Eilat (21-10) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Galil Gilboa (11-20) 91-82 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hapoel Eilat. Galil Gilboa shot 60.7 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward James Kelly (201-93, college: Marshall) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Greg Whittington (203-93, college: Georgetown) helped adding 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Elijah Bryant (196-95, college: BYU, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and naturalized Swedish power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, agency: Ron Sport) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Galil Gilboa maintains tenth place with 11-20 record. Loser Hapoel Eilat keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Galil Gilboa will face higher ranked Beer Sheva (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Eilat will play against Bnei Hasharon and hope to win that game.
