Very important is a home loss of second ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (12-9) against fourth ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (13-10) on Wednesday night. Host Caballeros de Culiacan was defeated by Halcones de Ciudad Obregon in Culiacan 100-84. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import guard Isaiah Wilkerson (191-90, college: NJIT) accounted for 28 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American-Jamaican center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) added 26 points and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for Caballeros de Culiacan in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon moved-up to second place. Caballeros de Culiacan at the other side dropped to the third position with nine games lost. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will meet at home Gigantes (#6) in the next round. Caballeros de Culiacan will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas and hope to secure a win.
