Leader Maccabi T-A delivered the twenty fifth win on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (12-20) 93-70 in Tel-Aviv. They outrebounded Maccabi Ashdod 41-29 including 34 on the defensive glass. Maccabi T-A looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Jake Cohen (208-90, college: Davidson) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Alex Tyus (203-88, college: Florida) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A's coach Giannis Sfairopoulos felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kosovan center Lis Shoshi (211-94, college: UALR) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and American Mark Tollefsen (206-92, college: Arizona) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Maccabi T-A (25-6) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side keeps the ninth place with 20 games lost. Maccabi T-A are looking forward to face Ironi Nahariya (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Hapoel Holon and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
