Regular Season Round 2: Edmonton S. - Niagara RL 66-108
Date: May 16, 2019
Very significant was Niagara RL's (#4) 42-point road victory against Edmonton S. 108-66. Niagara RL dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Edmonton S.'s 26. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American guard Ryan Anderson (193, college: Nebraska) notched 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Haitian-Canadian forward Yohanny Dalembert (196, college: JMU) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Anderson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Niagara RL players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds by swingman Jordan Baker (201, college: Alberta) did not help to save the game for Edmonton S.. American guard Xavier Moon (188, college: Morehead St., agency: Interperformances) added 26 points and 4 assists for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Niagara RL will play against Saskatchewan R. in Saskatoon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Edmonton S. will play on the road against Guelph N. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
