Regular Season Round 11: Obregon - Jalisco 78-76

The most exciting game of round 11 in the CIBACOPA took place in Ciudad Obregon. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Gigantes (11-11) to fourth ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (13-10) 78-76 on Friday evening. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. Swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) contributed with 4 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Brandon Swannegan (206-93, college: Tulsa) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and guard Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) added 21 points in the effort for Gigantes. Four Gigantes players scored in double figures. Gigantes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Gigantes dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon are again looking forward to face Gigantes (#6) in Guadalajara in the next round. Gigantes will play at home against Venados and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
