There was no surprise when 12th ranked Brisbane Spartans (2-4) were defeated at home by top-ranked Brisbane Capitals (6-0) 100-84 on Saturday. Brisbane Capitals made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Brisbane Capitals outrebounded Brisbane Spartans 44-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Will Magnay (208-98, college: Tulsa) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Jason Cadee (186-91) who added 24 points and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Chris Whitehead (175-92, college: Bellarmine) with 22 points and 4 assists and forward Josh Derksen (206-95, college: Ky Wesleyan) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brisbane Capitals maintains first position in League with 6-0 record. Loser Brisbane Spartans dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
