Regular Season Round 12: East Perth E. - Willetton T. 94-96

Date: May 18, 2019
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Morley where eleventh ranked Tigers (5-9) edged 10th ranked Eagles (5-8) 96-94 on Saturday. Tigers made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game, while Eagles only scored four points from the stripe. Tigers forced 20 Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 51-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Maurice Barrow (196-92, college: Fairfield) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Damien Scott (192-92) who added 19 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Drew Williamson (196-83, college: MSU Denver) with 25 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Cameron Williams (185-95, college: MSU Denver) scored 21 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Eagles' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tigers maintains eleventh position in League with 5-9 record. Loser Eagles keep the tenth place with eight games lost. Tigers will face league's second-placed Senators in Perth in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
