The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Ballarat Miners (7-1) in Wendouree on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by ninth ranked BA CoE (5-6) 80-77. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Joshua Bannan (204-1) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 9 rebounds and guard Tamuri Wigness (184-2) who added 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. BA CoE's coach Adam Caporn used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Jerry Evans (203-90, college: Nevada) with 30 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and guard Kuany Kuany (201-94, college: Chaminade) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ballarat Miners players scored in double figures. Despite that victory BA CoE went down to eleventh position (League) due to points difference. Ballarat Miners at the other side still keep top place with one game lost. BA CoE are looking forward to face higher ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (#9) in Ulverstone in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ballarat Miners will play on the road against Sabres (#18) in Cheltenham and are hoping to win this game.
