Very predictable result when fourth ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (13-13) defeated at home bottom-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (9-17) 78-73 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Worth to mention a great performance of Greg Smith (198-92, college: Colorado St.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds and Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) who added 21 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Brent Jackson (193-94, college: Columbus St.) with 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Malik Benlevi (196-97, college: Georgia St.) scored 9 points. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 13-13 record, which they share with La Paz. Loser Ostioneros de Guaymas stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. Tijuana Zonkeys will face league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
