Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Gigantes (13-12) were defeated on the road by second ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (14-10) 87-80 on Saturday. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) who added 19 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Brandon Swannegan (206-93, college: Tulsa) with 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) scored 22 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-10 record having just two points less than leader Hermosillo. Newly promoted Gigantes dropped to the third place with 12 games lost. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will face Mantarrayas (#4) in La Paz in the next round.
