Regular Season Round 12: Geelong S. - Diamond V.E. 87-81
Date: May 19, 2019
No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Geelong Supercats (6-5) won against at home 15th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (3-7) 87-81 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: SHSU) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Anthony Williams (178-95, college: Clark Atlanta) who added 21 points and 5 assists during the contest. Williams attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Four Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Logan Hovey (200-94, college: SW Baptist) with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Darcy Harding (200-94, agency: MKP Management) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Geelong Supercats moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the seventeenth position with seven games lost. Geelong Supercats will face Dandenong Rangers (#10) at home in the next round. Diamond Valley Eagles will play against Knox Raiders (#14) in Wantirna South and hope to win that game.
