Henan used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Luoyang 123-97 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Henan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 21 Luoyang turnovers. Henan looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Luoyang's players. American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 28 points and 7 assists. At the losing side Salvadorean-American center Ronnie Aguilar (216-87, college: CS Dominguez H.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds and forward MingYang Gao (196-88) scored 21 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Henan and five Luoyang players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Henan will face Shaanxi X. (#6) in Xian in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Luoyang will play at home against Hefei (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
