There was no surprise in Alexandria where 11th ranked Spiders (1-11) were edged by fifth ranked Sydney City Comets (8-4) 86-84 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sydney City Comets outrebounded Spiders 45-34 including 18 on the offensive glass. Naturalized British V.Islands guard William McFee (191, college: UNB) fired 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized American guard Indiana Faithfull (193-91, college: West Liberty) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Matthew Horsley produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and Daniel Moser (, college: Northwestern, IA) added 15 points and 11 assists respectively for lost side. Five Spiders players scored in double figures. Spiders' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sydney City Comets maintains fifth place in League with 8-4 record. Loser Spiders dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Sydney City Comets will face league's leader Crusaders in Terrigal in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spiders will play at home against Hills Hornets (#7) and hope to win that game.
