There was a small surprise in Wantirna South where fourteenth ranked Knox Raiders (4-6) edged their close opponent Diamond Valley Eagles (4-8) 80-77 on Saturday. Guard Damon Heuir (189-91, college: S.Utah) fired 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American guard Mike Rose (193-87, college: E.Kentucky) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Logan Hovey (200-94, college: SW Baptist) produced 25 points and 9 rebounds and forward Liam Thomas (213, college: Nicholls St.) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Knox Raiders maintains fourteenth place in League with 4-6 record. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Knox Raiders will face higher ranked Dandenong Rangers (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
