The game between Top Four teams took place in Tijuana. 3rd placed host Tijuana Zonkeys (15-15) lost to first ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (20-8) 89-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tijuana Zonkeys. The former international guard Cezar Guerrero (185-92, college: Fresno St., agency: Best of You Sports) nailed 27 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American forward Jeremy Hollowell (203-94, college: Georgia St.) accounted for 20 points and 5 assists. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. American point guard Richard Williams (178-87, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) came up with 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Tijuana Zonkeys in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rayos de Hermosillo have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-8 record. Defending champion Tijuana Zonkeys keep the third position with 15 games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Gigantes (#6) in Guadalajara in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tijuana Zonkeys will play at home against Caballeros de Culiacan and hope to get back on the winning track.
