Regular Season Round 8: A1 Challenge - KCCA Leopards 58-87

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: KCCA Leopards (#2) and A1 Challenge (#5). A1 Challenge was smashed at home by 29 points 58-87 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of A1 Challenge. KCCA Leopards forced 22 A1 Challenge turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by A1 Challenge helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Martha Soigi (185-86) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. The former international Judith Nansobya (170-86) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Susan Amito (-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and guard Georgia Adhiambo (-92) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for A1 Challenge. A1 Challenge's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. KCCA Leopards (7-1) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position having just three points less than leader JKL Dolphins, which they share with UCU Ladies. A1 Challenge at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with KIU Rangers. KCCA Leopards' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala JKL Dolphins.
