No shocking result in a game when third ranked Geelong Supercats (9-5) beat 12th ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (5-7) in Ulverstone 94-85 on Saturday. Geelong Supercats made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: SHSU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 39 points (!!!). Naturalized British forward Lewis Thomas (203-92, college: W.Oregon) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Tre Armstrong (193-0) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Nick Banyard (203-94, college: Cent Florida) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for NW Tasmania Thunder. Five Geelong Supercats and four NW Tasmania Thunder players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Geelong Supercats maintains third position in League with 9-5 record having just six point less than leader Mackay M. Loser NW Tasmania Thunder dropped to the eleventh place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
